We are witnessing rapid technological advances that are fundamentally affecting and changing public transport. Transport operators are gradually undergoing a revolutionary change, replacing their fleets with electric buses that meet the highest current standards and emission limits, but are also subject to digital trends.
Wi-Fi for fast passenger information
Wi-Fi connectivity is becoming a key tool for instant internet access and real-time data transfer. Wi-Fi is an in-demand service and in the future already an automatic tool for data transfer in public services.
MHD Trebic installed Wi-Fi routers in the most modern electric buses
MHD Třebíč is also coming up with a vision of smart transport. As of January 2025, our Wi-Fi routers are in operation in a fleet of 25 modern vehicles, including 10 of the latest electric buses. The carrier draws a comprehensive service of equipment, from connectivity, statistics and service, to marketing.

The carrier presented its modern electric buses SOR at the CZECHBUS 2024 fair and visitors were able to see the high-end interior of the vehicle and test the Wi-Fi connection. Passengers of Trebic public transport can thus enjoy all the comfort offered by the new vehicles, including stable internet during the journey.

Welcome Page and its added value
The complete Wi-Fi package also includes a landing page. This is displayed to every passenger when they connect to the Wi-Fi network. The mobile page is a handy tool for communication and interaction. Carriers can use the Welcome Page:
- Carry news and up-to-date traffic information.
- Send alerts about route changes, closures or other operational news.
- Promote cultural, sporting and other city events.
- Monetize commercial content.
- Collect important traffic statistics.
- Gather valuable information from passengers through questionnaires and surveys.
This feature greatly simplifies and streamlines communication between carriers and passengers.

Wi-Fi jako nový standard
If you want to keep up with the times and meet the principles of Smart City, Wi-Fi is no longer a nice bonus, but rather a necessary standard. Transport, like other public services, needs to move to a higher level of digitisation that can respond flexibly to the immediate needs of passengers and operators, and allows both sides to be communication independent.
